So...if one could convincingly defend the 95AD date for Revelation, then this fact would disqualify the preterists view. When do dispensationalists say the book was written? If I were to guess, I would say "after 70AD" (to exclude the destruction of the temple as a topic the prophesies are about).

Hi Selah,

Yes it would disqualify the preterist view and yes the dispens think it was written at 95AD but there is really little evidence to support this date IMO, and yes the Left Behind series is based on the dispensationalist view. However the early dating of 66AD does'nt rule out the historicist view or even the dispensationalist view.
Just want to share my thinking on Rev which is that there are 3 judgments on the land each with 7 curses i think. In the preterist or dispen view they describe the same event. What if they are not the same event, maybe one is 70AD and one is a judgment in the middle ages and one is in the end times. In Rev 17 the harlot is attacked by a beast which came out of a pit. Perhaps the first beast is Nero , then later the next beast is the Papacy and then the last beast has something to do with the identity of the harlot in Rev 17 which is probably Jerusalem. Jerusalem is often called a harlot in the OT and specific nations went into the pit in the OT and perhaps those lands or nations emerge and attack the harlot. Just my thoughts from hearing different things from different people.
