Larry Hurtado is a leading scholar in Early (or Primitive) Christianity. I really like his work and have been looking for some audio from him for some time now.

I just found this and am listening:
Sermon: The Return of the King
Revelation 15:5-16:21
(text not read in audio)

Scroll down to February 2006, free download, short but well worth a listen!

(You will need to read the text first...they didn't include it for some reason).

If anyone liked this sermon, please let me know. Steve Gregg says very similar things in his Revelation Lectures...very interesting...Hmmmm.......

Hi Rick,

I listened to the tape, and I enjoyed it. I was doing other things while I listened, so I may not have been paying as close attention as I could/should have.

What I got:
  1. Gods wrath is orderly
God is not a dysfunctional father
    It's God's wrath, not ours
The Bible does not begin nor end with wrath
Did I miss something? Is there a topic from that list (or something that was said, but I missed) that you wanted to discuss here?

Hi Mchelle,

Glad you enjoyed it. Very good summary from you too!

I didn't have anything in particular to discuss. It's just that I'm a "fan" of Larry Hurtado...really like his work. Some people I've met -- of a more fundamentalist persuation than I -- well, they definately don't like his work. Goes with the territory, I reckon....

I guess I just wanted to give Dr. Hurtado a "plug"....

I've only read one of his books but have several of his articles:
One Lord One God:
Early Christian Devotion and Ancient Jewish Monotheism
