Then could you answer breifly if you think the "coming in flaming fire" in 2 Thes 1 and the "coming and gathering to Him" in 2 Thes 2 are the same or different events than the "gathering of the elect" in Matthew 24?

The late Samuel Shenton then president of International Flat Earth Research Society was shown the first deepspace photographs of Earth. Shenton studied it for a moment and said “It's easy to see how such a picture could fool the untrained eye”

matt 24:29 Particularly the word immediately, doesnt refer to Jesus return, but rather shows that Isreal had lost favor with GOD. The sun, moon, and stars are the house of Isreal, Joseph's dream (Gen37:9) Read Jer31:35-37 along with Matt21:43 & 23:38.
Also, The only sign Jesus gave for his return was that it would be as sudden as lightning and that people would be caught off gaurd because they're so busy doing their own thing. 'as in the days of noah'.
