How does emperor worship fit in with the 2nd beast of Rev. 13 (lamb with two horns) giving breath (pneuma) "spirit" to the image (ikon) so that this image can both speak and cause people to be killed?
How can it symbolically be Jewish general homage to Rome's authority?
Of the three well known preterist options for the 2nd beast:
1) The group of adherents to emperor worship
2) Roman governor
3) Apostate Jewish religious system

I will allow another to answer you, since I have never taken the preterist approach to this portion of Revelation. I take the Idealist approach to Revelation 10—13.
