Steve,

I learned a little about amill. from you and been reading books you mentioned on the topic but allow me to explain what I understood thus far. Please if you could fill in the blanks or errors in my understanding of it.

The 1000yrs mentioned in Rev 20 is figurative language interpreted as a complete period of time, whatever God's timing is on that we don't know, which is ok with me. Now the millenium began at Jesus' first coming and ends at His second coming. Then we enter into eternity, the just and unjust, some to hell and some to be with God.

Also there are two resurrections, the 1st being born again. The 2nd resurrection is our bodies changed or made glorified at the 2nd Coming, so we receive back to us new bodies without sin but glorified.

The last trump. There is only one last trump. Is it mentioned multiple times in scripture? What do you believe scripture teaches on this? Where do Pre-Millenarians stand with this last trump?

Rev. written when? 70AD timeframe? Why? Does this effect the Amill view if written later or early?

Last can I just jump into your broadcasts to study the Bible with you?

I think your friend is confusing amillennialism with full preterism. Here's abrief definition of full preterism fromWikipedia:

Full Preterism differs from Partial Preterism in that Full Preterists believe all prophecy was fulfilled with the destruction of Jerusalem, including the resurrection of the dead and Jesus' Second Coming or Parousia. Full Preterism is also known by several other names: Consistent Preterism, Covenant Eschatology, Hyper-Preterism (a somewhat derogatory term), and Pantelism (the term "Pantelism" comes from the Greek and means, "all things having been accomplished"). Full Preterism holds that Jesus' Second Coming is to be viewed not as a future-to-us bodily return, but rather a "return" manifested by the physical destruction of Jerusalem and her Temple in AD 70 by foreign armies in a manner similar to various Old Testament descriptions of God coming to destroy other nations in righteous judgment. Full Preterism also holds that the Resurrection of the dead did not entail the raising of the physical body, but rather the resurrection of the soul from the "place of the dead," known as Sheol (Hebrew) or Hades (Greek). As such, the righteous dead obtained a spiritual and substantial body for use in the heavenly realm, and the unrighteous dead were cast into the Lake of Fire. Some Full Preterists believe this judgment is ongoing and takes effect upon the death of each individual (Heb. 9:27). This part is correct.

Thus they deny the bodily return of Christ to rule and judge.

This part is not correct.
