Hi I fast occasionally and find it does seem to connect me with the Lord clearer.I also on occasion stay up through the night to pray. I have been blessed to have the time to do this.
I personally believe from my own experiences fasting detaches me some from the physical side of life. Feeding my body and all the actions associated with it are cut out. My mind and heart are clearer and usually when I fast I have a specific reason in prayer for doing it.
I have fasted as long as a cple weeks and for very short times ( a day or two) One thing I have found quite interesting is during or right after I am done with my fast (which the holy spirit seems to guide me when to stop) I do seem to have more attacks on me. I have almost gotten prepared for it now when I fast because it seems to be associated with it. Especially if I am praying for a stronghold that seems to be in my or some one elses life. Almost like clock work I get attached.
And it is usually in a place where I am weak or at a loved one, some thing I wouldn't have guessed so it takes me by surprise..So my attention is trying to be averted and my hope or joy taken away.
In the end though, I really find it deepens my walk with God and would encourage any of you to try it or do it more often. Christ fasted 40 days. As He is my example thats enough for me.
Getting attacked for healing the sick
Isa 58:6 Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?

For those who have experience getting "attacked" after/during fasts, could you describe that for me? The word "attacked" in the Christian world can mean so many different things for different people.

I mean attacked as something that comes up in my life that may be out of the ordinary that takes my peace and attention away from what I was just learning through prayer and trying to digest., Like I all of a sudden get a call from a relative and they are in a car accident and very upset . Something neg. in the world that would pull on my emotions. And usually not once but in multiples.
Like the car accident thing, than your car won't start so you can't get there. When you do get it started, you need gas. You are driving there and you get lost. When you get there some one is yelling and arguing with your loved one etc. and you have to try and help without getting sidetracked in your emotions. Or you have been waiting on a answer for something and your mind gets caught up in circles of neg. thoughts and you have to keep fighting with it to take it back to the positive and in peace with God. So you fight to Come against the neg. thoughts in your mind and see the positive under God.

One we can rebuke satan. tell him to go and take his dumb thoughts with him, in the name of JESUS CHRIST.he has no choice, he must go.
another is to just from your heart, make up a song of praise to our LORD, after a short time? the things of life will not matter and you will be at perfect peace with our LORD and HE takes care of all the problems!
satan does not want you to grow in the LORD and live in the POWER of the KINGDOM. GOD DOES!
God has given us power over this world and the demons who run it!
They fear you greatly.
The TRUTH sets us FREE.
The bible teaches ? My People perish for lack of knowledge!
He has provided Every thing for us to be OVERCOMERS and MORE than conquerors.
We are NOT called to fail or be weak or losers!
It is a done deal.He has made you top be a true warrior for our LORD and a winner.
I have found in my life? He will not allow you to fail?
He will force you to fight the same battle over and over until you WIN!
And we can win every time.
But, We must see , our victory is though HIm and His MIGHTY WORDS!
after a time, the battles are nothing!

Yes I live in the U.S.A. naples, fl.
Well, my dad died when i was very young, I had 4 sisters and my mother. They were very poor and did not understand my thinking? I lived lots on the streets . and have 11 children , 8 boys 3 girls. But only two at home. A boy 13 daniel and a girl 9 sarah.
My wife could not have children, But i ask the LORD to give her a child. He said no, I said? But LORD , she has suffered greatly? He said no!
I said? LORD will YOU for me?
He said yes. We had Daniel then later Sarah!
lots of failures in my life time many mistakes. But also many miracles!
When I was born again? My family pretty much turned against me, But on my mother death bed , She accepted the LORD as well as two of my sisters who died.
In life they did not want me around. But at death , they only wanted me?
It was a great blessing, yet we could have grow all together in the LORD for many years?
Still it was a GREAT BLESSING to me!
As I look back, I see where I could have been More Loving and went about things much different?
I think, We try to force things, when we should be more loving and have more mercy!
I think our motives are correct , but fear enters in, and we think we must act now!

I work for my self and mostly by myself!
I have my own home truck ,van car 2 birds 2 dogs and a wife!

Not much more to say. I go to a church called new hope! It is on T.V.
