Unity in the Body

Ephesians 4 (King James Version)

3Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

4There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;

5One Lord, one faith, one baptism,

6One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

7But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.

8Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.

9(Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?

10He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)

11And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

12For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

13Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace; For there is one body and one Spirit, just as you have been called to one glorious hope for the future; for There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one God and Father, who is over all and in all and living through all; However, He Jesus has given us Gifts through the generosity of "Christ the Annointed; That is why the Scriptures say, “When He ascended; He led captives out of bondage,and set them free; and gave gifts to His people.” Notice that it says “He ascended.” This clearly means that Christ The Anointed; also descended to hell; and defeated the devil,stripped him of power, And the same one who descended is the one who ascended higher than all the heavens, so that He might fill the entire universe with Himself.
Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers.
Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ. This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ.
Then we will no longer be immature like children. We won’t be tossed and blown about by every wind of new teaching. We will not be influenced when people try to trick us with lies; so clever they sound like the truth. Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of His body, the church. 16 He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love. Respectfully, Parsonsmom.
