When did the glorification of Jesus take place; during his ministry, crucifixion, death, resurrection or after ascension?
Scripture show that Jesus was glorified since before the world existed (John 17:5) and his disciples attested in John 1:14 (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. (happened when Word incarnated)
Before Jesus was persecuted he is fully aware that he will be crucify and put to death and prayed to Father in John 12:27-28 Joh 12:27 Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour.
Joh 12:28 Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again. (during ministry)
In particular, it is suggested that in John 17:5 Jesus’ prayer is not that he be taken to the cross viewed as a separate event- it is a prayer that he should undergo the whole process of cross/resurrection/ascension which will lead to him sharing in heaven the place of honour with his Father that has rightly been his since before the foundation of the world. Since this is the case, then his prayer in John 17:1 “glorify your Son so that the Son may glorify you” will mean essentially the same thing:“bring about the events that need to take place so that you, the Father, will be glorified by eternal life being given to all those whom you have determined will share in this life”
So, in Acts 8:16 Act 8:16 (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)
John 7:38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
Joh 7:39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)
For more clarity of my OP I would like to suggest that we focus our conversation with this two verses which are both related to the Holy Ghost but they have some contrasting word. In verse 38 it said that out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water, which I supposed that it were already in the believer and in verse39 : for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.) which can be consider that the Holy Ghost is not yet in possession of a believer.
What do you think if what is the intention of the last phrase”: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)” and who will glorify Jesus?
