Is a marriage failure always the fault of the husband?

There is a teaching gaining popularity in our fellowship that says that marriage failure, no matter what its cause may be, is always the responsibility of the husband, because he is the head. A book that is being read by many in our group says it is like a ship's captain. He is responsible if the ship runs aground, no matter who was at the wheel at the time. He is the head, so he is responsible. Also, they say that, if a man loves his wife as Christ loves ther church, she will respond and always be a good wife...like a flower. If it wilts, it is the gardener's fault for not taking proper care of it. This sounds logical, but is it scriptural?

D.K.,

God was faithful to His bride Israel but Israel was unfaithful to Him. Would these people argue that God was at fault?

Homer,

I have to say that I admire your ability to say so much truth with so few words.

God bless.

A nonsensical Teaching......

The Husband is not always at fault. Homer said it well.
