I appreciate this perspective, but for my part I would advocate prayer/intimacy with God/the indwelling of the holy spirit as the most honorable and most desirable - and, hopefully, primary - source of truth. Generally speaking, the more we delegate the encounter with God to someone else or some external source, the more we have abandoned our duty and privilege to cultivating an immediate relationship with our Yahweh. The external sources are useful as barometers or lightning rods, but there is a common danger of letting them eclipse the true goal of our religious activities: dwelling in the bosom of God.Sola Scriptura is only one of the "Solas". It is not the sole foundation for Christianity, but it is, in the context of the church or tradition or some prophet, considered our primary source for truth.
