the past 4 days i have spent hours speaking with members of the brethren, i was curious if any of you had some encounters with the group?

I've not encountered anyone from this group but if you Google "Jim Roberts" and "brethren" you'll get a bunch of hits. It appears that they could be a pretty dangerous cult. Primetime (Diane Sawyer) did a story on them in '98:

yeah, i've been thru all those sites, and read the book that jim guerra wrote about his experience, i was just curious if other people had any encounters with them, they've been nothing but nice to me, i've spent 4 days talking with 3 of them about 6 hours each day over my thanksgiving break, and this "debate" resulted from 2 of the members of the group leaving, they were with the group for 7 or 8 years, so the 2 males in my town asked to meet with me, and another friend of mine after the 2 members left, so we ended up meeting them 4 days in a row, same time, same place, and we talked with them for hours, and they ended up leaving town 2 days ago

if any of you have had encounters with them, i would love to hear about it, and possibly discuss some of their doctrine, and how it differs from "orthodox" doctrine,

if anything, please pray for the members of the group, the 2 girls who just left the group, Talia, and Harmony

the 2 guys still in the group Michiah, and Jonathon. There was also one girl left in the small group who was here, her name is Rahav.
