Anyone familiar with this book/author and "movement" of sorts ?

[To Darin: I think you know what the program is all about by now. Sorry I only just saw your post.]

It's basically a reading program to read the entire Bible cover to cover in 90 days (actually 88 days, there are 2 "grace" days).

I'm in the midst of doing the program now and I've just reached Philippians in my reading.

Due to my ability to read on my job (I am a machine operator in a Plastic bottlecaps...or the ephymism we use "closures".....factory) I read the Bible through in 3 months and 2 days earlier this year. However I'm going back through a little slower this time. I think a slower go through is a bit more beneficial.

As someone who speed reads and listens (audio bible) as a normal practice, I can say that reading quickly and reading slowly have different benefits. Reading slowly and using careful study is much more edifying, but doing so with certain books (Numbers, for example) will drive you mad. The benefit to speed reading the bible is that you are always reminded of the larger picture, which is a nice change of pace. I try to incorporate both into my studies, although I haven't gone through this particular program.

I see what you mean JC. As far as getting all the little pieces of what's being said, it's great to go through slowly and think things through, while allowing the Spirit to speak to you. But reading quickly though can give you a big picture familiarity that will help you soak up the things you need to when you begin thinking on a certain portion of the Word. Good point!
