Thanks, Ian!
I'm laughing so hard the tears are running. Just read the post where I was trying to answer Ian by first quoting him. Obviously I don't know what I'm doing because it came out, "Joan wrote..." instead of "Ian wrote..." This whole message will probably come out as a quote, as well. One day maybe someone can teach me how to use forum features like quoting.

Selah, You are such a dear. This feels like Joan Day. Thank you, Selah, Ian and Suzana. Blessings, all!

I shall never let you forget it. Utterly unforgiveable!

By the way, can you see Rainier from your home?

Ian, you put everything into perspective. A split personality, I am both one of the most serious-minded people I know, and one of the lightest-hearted (interpretation: goofy). To keep the halves in balance is at times more challenging than any sane person should have to manage.

Nope. Can't see Rainier from our windows, but half a minute down the road and around the corner, our eyes are irresistibly drawn to a rugged stretch of the Cascade Mountain Range to the east. Many (if not most) of our east-west roads yield lovely, verdantly framed sightings of of the Cascades one way, and the Olympic Mountains, the other. I am continually exclaiming over them! Though not as spectacular, northward views commonly elicit delighted comment, and majestic Mount Rainier is to the southeast, nestled in foothills, readily visible from much of the area. This is a beautiful location. Too built-up for my taste, but the surrounding water, forest, hills and mountains more than make up for that. Because I spend much of my work-day on the road, I am blessed almost daily by encounters with lovely settings of all kinds. Methinks your camera would find plenty to keep it busy in the Pacific Northwest.

Thanks for the chuckle, Ian. Many blessings!

I relate to the split personality part - I am part dour and part goofy. If I wasn`t the latter too, I wouldn`t be able to endure the kids in my schoolbus.

I know your part of the world well, Joan, which is why I asked. I once arrived in Seattle with a friend, a complete climbing novice, with a view to climbng Rainier and others. Driving off from the airport inland, I could see it shimmering above the clouds on the horizon. I asked her could she see it? She could not and needed it pointing out to her. She was looking across rather than up! It really is a huge hulk of a mountain. We Brits are not used to mountains of that scale!

Ah... So the mountain in your photos - the one that looks like Rainier - probably IS Rainier. I'd been meaning to ask about that. Isn't it a wonderful mountain?!? I've lived a good deal of my life under its shadow, and am especially fond of it.

Dour and goofy. A great description! The one side a necessary balance for the other, despite the incongruity. I suspect your bus clients think highly of you, at least in part because they can't figure you out!

Sorry to be so slow to answer you, Ian. I've been in the midst of a transfer from one laptop to another, and a travail it has been. Great to hear from you, though!

By the way, a donor has contributed a $500 gift designated for the new equipment. My thanks to that donor, who reads tis forum regularly.

Steve,
Where do we stand with the fundraising? Any chance of getting The Road to Find Out back on the air at the turn of the year?

I think we can probably swing the funds by then, but there are still some logistics. Since I am starting up a new daily show at that time, I have been working at getting the right equipment related to tooling up for that. I think it is possible that The Road To Find Out could come back on in January, if the Lord wills.

It seems like the iTunes podcast downloads are not working since sometime last week. I see that the episodes seem to be posted at http://tnp.theeggbeater.net/, but they are not getting downloaded. The half hour show is working properly, but not the hour show.

Is anyone else experiencing this?
