Sun. eve home fellowship

Post by _Anonymous » Sun Apr 24, 2005 10:11 pm

Please give me some comments;

I have been attending a church and on Sun. eve they have it in a home.
I really enjoy the home and the closeness.

I asked the pastor's wife a question about a sweet couple who attends the church. I just asked if they were o.k. as I have not seen them.
I expected a simple answer but she told me their life history of how they met in a mental hospital/ and so much more, I was stunned..........
When this group prays they mention names and pray aloud about their PROBLEMS/SINS???? Geez! Not their problems other people's.......
Would it be best to go elsewhere or what????

I am finding it hard to find fellowship!

thanks!

Well, you could try asking whether they're a church or a small group (as in a bible study or personal fellowship group). If they're a church, why are they bringing up intimate and personal details that would be more appropriate to a small group setting?

Methinks they're not properly differentiating between the two. Oh, and I wouldn't be overly critical of them, just point this out as kindly as you can.

*shrugs* If you feel uncomfortable mentioning it in front of everyone there, you could try pulling the pastor's wife aside and mentioning it. But you were the one who said that inappropriate things were being said or done in front of everyone there, right? So technically you should discuss this with everyone, not just the pastor's wife.

thank you for taking time for my question, Damon.
At this time I will stay away as I dont want involvement with a
preacher's wife who talks to much.
