Jesus is God and suffered for all sin.

David recognized this, I think; Psalm 51:4: "Against you, you only, have I sinned......"
OK, I'm probably just being too sensitive about using the term victim because it just sounds off to me. But, I'll drop it since I understand what you're getting at.

IS THERE SUCH A THING AS FINITE SIN?

I ask:

IS THERE SUCH A THING AS INFINITE SIN?

I have no idea what "finite sin" or "infinite sin" means.

I do know that the term "eternal sin" is used in some translations:

Mark 3:29 ...but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin" RSV

But if this "eternal sin" is what is meant by an "infinite sin", then the fact that this particular sin is classified as "eternal" or "infinite" implies that there are sins which are not "eternal" or "infinite".

Of course, as you know, I consider this a mistranslation. The word should be translated as "lasting" ----- "is guilty of a lasting sin" ---- lasting in the sense that he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit must undergo a severe, lasting correction, perhaps in Gehenna.

Man judges a person by his past deeds, and administers penalties for his wrongdoing. God judges a person by his present character, and disciplines him that he may become righteous.
