Advice for a friend
A friend of ours is fighting cancer. She's had surgery but is struggling against some post-surgical complications that are requiring short stays in the hospital. She's having significant difficulty eating and is becoming physically weak. I don't believe she's questioning God or spiritually weak but the physical weakness and worry are taking a toll on her stamina. I suspect that she may require one more surgery to correct a leak in the absence of healing presently. Could you suggest a passage of scripture that may be beneficial to her? And, of course, would you pray for her?
Thank you,

Thank you for this opportunity to pray for a sister in Christ. God knows her heart and even though this cancer is taking its toll on her in various ways God is still her Friend, Father and Savior. He knows exactly what she needs.

Thanks Allyn and Sean. I'll look those scripture verses up and give them to her.

This is not a scripture but I will share.
Oasis of Hope is in Mexico. Dr Ernesto Conterras(sp) is a medical
doctor/christian and they do treatments for cancer. They will send
a book and DVD/CD of their hospital.
Scripture:
Jeremiah 29:11

I prayed for her. My husband died of cancer and it is a tough situation for all. Being there for her( and any family members) in kindness is always a good thing. Even doing little chores that might be a worrisome, nagging conflict for her can also mean alot . Simple steady care of the heart means SO much...
Another question.....
Does anyone know how Frank is doing? I have not heard from him nor seen him on the board for quite some time. He was also battling cancer and trying to keep up his duties as pastor in the nursing homes he worked in.A very dedicated brother with a very loving heart.

I don't remember corresponding with Frank for at least a year but found his comments encouraging.
The lady I originally mentioned will, in fact, have surgery again tomorrow. I appreciate your prayers for her and hope you will include her again. Her symptoms sound consistent with something possibly correctable with surgery. Either way, I pray that her relationship with God is strengthened through her suffering and exhaustion.
thanks again,

Our friend wanted us to let you know that she appreciates the scripture verses and is reading them over at least once each day. She is still hospitalized and probably won't go home for at least a week. She is quite weak and emaciated, not yet eating solid food, and not yet able to focus well enough to read or listen to audio recordings other than Allyn's scripture verses which I copied for her. Your continued prayers mean a lot to her. Thank you.
