I should mention that we will not be remaining on KCBC much longer, because we received a better deal from another station in the coverage area (KFIA). This change will occur in the next few weeks, so you may not want to set up to record our show off KCBC.

OK, the cron job worked to record. At the moment it does only the recording, but I'll get resampling to 24K (for smaller file size) and uploading worked out soon. I want it to resample on the fly as it rips, but I haven't figured that out yet.

So there's now an archive of the morning show at:
http://homestead-products.com/audio/

I won't be able to archive them very long, maybe a month or so at most, and if it ends up taking a lot of bandwidth I suppose my web host may squawk, but we'll see how it goes.

Great work guys!

The URL to provide the live flv stream for the new station (KFIA) will be http://2133.live.streamtheworld.com/KFIAAMAAC once it changes.

I am using ffmpeg (w/ LAME) to convert the flv -> mp3:

ffmpeg -i stream.flv -ar 44100 -ab 16k -ac 2 stream.mp3

Thought of that, but I can't get streamripper to output to stdout, it insists to writing to a file. It can run a relay server as it rips, which I might be able to use to feed lame or ffmpeg, but that'll have to wait for another day.

It looks like KBRT is the only station currently running the morning show, is that correct?

Steve, could you give me the name & model of the hardware and/or software you use to do the show remotely? I'd like to see what I can find out about its capabilities as far as recording the show.

(BTW I'm no longer keeping an archive online, as it looked like no one was using it.)

Hi Backwoodsman,

The broadcasting unit I use is made by Comrex. The unit is called "Access Portable" —as opposed to the "Access Rack" (mount).
