Would this be him?

I would recommend it to unbelievers, not to get thier focus on demons of course, but to give a wake up call to another realm they might not be aware of and the role that they might be unknowingly playing. At least, thats the effect it had on me.
I might agree. Screwtape and Mere Christianity are prolly my favorites

Hi John B,
Is "How to Read the Bible for All It's Worth" mostly about interpretation? What are some of the main subjects/topics?
It is. As the preface says, "... those who read have the responsibility to interpret accurately the text by what it means (exegesis) and by what it means to us (hermeneutics). To do this, we must ask the right questions of the text. Here is where the authors excel. By dividing the books of the Bible into groups of different kinds of literature, posing the right questions, and summarizing the principles of interpretation, they give a working guide for Bible study."

Fee & Stuart also created a companion book entitled "How to Read the Bible Book by Book".

Just did, thanks! His name is G.B. Caird, and the book is The Language and Imagery of the Bible. I need to order it. I got his name wrong earlier, when I kept thinking it was Cairn. That google search led me to all I need to know about the Cairn terrier.

I found a reference to Caird in G.K. Beale's book The Temple and the Church's Mission. I highly recommend that book, as it is a study of the temple in Scripture, from the Garden of Eden to Revelation. It is an earth-shattering book for anybody looking into New Testament theology about Jesus being the temple. It is awesome.

If Steve doesn't mind, and if you guys and gals would like, I wouldn't mind posting excerpts of it on the forum.

Hey Schoel, I'm taking the family out to your neck of the woods in June. Where should a family of four, including two young kids go for a couple of days around Denver?

Thanks.

JD,

Feel free to post excerpts from the book. Such excerpts would probably fit best in the "Misc. Essays" category. God bless.

JD,

I sent you my email in a private message. Send me an email with your kids ages and what your families interests are and I'll think up some ideas.

I didn't want my email address to get picked up by Steve with all the intense fund-raising he does :D
