Google search engine now has books online for download. The way I understand it is that older books are non-copywrite or free use and available for free.
That being the case, can anyone recomend some possible titles that are older and would be good reading?
I haven't downloaded anything yet but looks like a good place for some of the clasics.

nothing specific to recommend at present, but you also may look at the Gutenberg project (
http://www.gutenberg.org) for other copyright-lapsed works.
You can find the full text of several bible versions, in addition to such things as Augustine's confessions and Aquinas' Summa Theologia. Too bad they don't have any Bonhoeffer...

Downloaded Austine's Confesions and Josephus' Antiquity of the Jews.
That should keep me busy for a while.

Hi Seth,
Thats a pretty good site there. I was able to retrieve quite a number of books I have been wanting to get.
Can anyone define for me the term copyright-lapsed.

From The Gutenberg Project's "Copyright FAQ":
C.9. How does a copyright lapse?
Copyrights are issued for limited periods. When that period is up, the book enters the public domain.
Copyrights can lapse in other ways. Some books published without a copyright notice, for example, have fallen into the public domain.
