Hey all you techy-heads--

i am fairly stupid when it comes to some things-- for the life of me i cant figure out how to "shrink" a picture from my digital camera to a sufficent KB size to allow me to use it as an avatar.

after you quit laughing, can you clue me in as to how to do it?

thx! TK

Hi TK,

This worked for me:

1. Open picture on MS photo editor (standard on most modern versions of Windows)
2. [File,] [save as], [new filename] (so as not to ruin your original)
3. Click on [Image]---[resize] and choose about 10% for both width and height then click OK.
4. Save. and check file size in Windows Explorer.
5. Upload to avatar.
6. We all get to finally see what you look like. :)

Hope that works

Well, TK, unless you are Elijah or Moses, I don't think you've gotten your picture resized yet.

I use ImageCave...here's a link: http://www.imagecave.com. It's pretty easy to use.

thanks for the website, michelle. my PC actually didnt have the photo editor that christopher described.

it's interesting that you interpret my current avatar as moses and elijah (presumably with jesus on the mount of transfiguration). i never even considered that.

Actually, its a representation of Jesus with the two disciples on the road to emmaus. glow asked me who painted it, etc and i have no idea and couldnt find out. i just did a google image search on "emmaus" and found it. it sort of goes with my signature verse.

Ha! I guess I could have considered you signature. I just always thought it was the Mount of Tranfiguration...either way it's a beautiful picture. You know, come to think of it, I always think of the Road to Emmaus episode as a hot, dusty, everyday walk.
