Ryan and I are considering getting either TV Guardian or ClearPlay for each other as a Christmas present. With TV Guardian, all of the bad language and sexual references are muted out of movies. With ClearPlay, you download a file into a special DVD Player where editors have actually cut out the profanity and any violent or sexual scenes.
I was wondering if anyone had had experience with either of these and what your experience was. Thanks!!

Yeah, Rae. I have a TV Guardian and I don't know what I ever did without it. It's great.
At first it was a little hard to get used to - the TV would go quiet and then you'd read what was said with the curse word being replaced (e.g. the "B" word becomes "nag", the "S" word becomes "crud").
Sometimes it's kind of funny too, my little boy likes to watch the children's show The Wiggles. There's a song where they say "Cock a doodle doo" over and over, and the TVG displays "Jerk a doodle doo" on the screen for us, not being able to determine that "COCK" in that instance is not profane.
But I absolutely DO recommend the TV Guardian. It re-sensitizes your ears against allowing the horrible language in your home.
But I must admit I've never heard of that other device you described. That sounds excellent too. I'll check that out.
