I am a police officer, and have been for 16 yrs. In my 16 yrs I have ran across few people of faith, but the ones I have ran across usually get labled real quick as kooky or too nice to do the job, unless they are someone in charge that happens to have a strong personality. Most police have high morals in living and obey the law, but little real religious conviction.

I have a supervisor that I have become friends and have risked talking about religion a bit. He watches everything he eats and works out, and I ask him how he could care so much about his body that isnt going to last, but doesnt care about his soul that will last forever? He doesnt believe in religion and tries to deflect my questions, which I dont really push.

An earlier supervisor that I worked for, I am sure is a man of faith and is probably a saved man just from listening to what he has told me. However, he is extremely egotisical and will screw you over quicly, if you are not his follower or do not agree with what he says.

I have come to realize that there is a big spectrum of saved people, and that they may not get along. I dont want anything to do with this guy in anyway, in any part of my life, but I am sure he is as saved as I am. How can I recon this?

Maybe focus on what you have in common like Jesus being your Lord and his Lord and that through him is the only way you will know for sure that heaven is your destiny.
As you can see in this forum there are a thousand secondary issues to disagree about but in the end it's about Jesus and the relationship we have with him.

Are you sure he is a Christian? "By their fruits you will know them". From the part I bolded I would have doubts, if I understand you correctly.

Your comments about police are interesting. The small church we attend
(about 100-110 avg. attendance) has six people who have been or are policemen. Two of the retired policemen are elders, one of whom has a son who is head of the state police here in Oregon.

Sharing your faith in the workplace, as you know, can be difficult. You are not free to speak as you might wish. However, if we live a noticeably different life, then opportunities may arise.

We can pray for God to open doors, be prepared to give an answer, and leave it to God to bring the opportunity.
