Sometime ago Jaydam recommended a book called "The Persecutor" on a thread on this forum. I bought the book, and read it aloud to my wife and daughter. All of us really enjoyed it. I am seeking recommendations for books to read, as I would like to find more good quality books that I could use for reading time with the family. Does anyone have any they would like to recommend?

How old is your daughter?
If she is in her teens or older, I recommend reading George MacDonald's novels, and also Leo Tolstoï 's( also spelled "Tolstoy's") short stories.

Man judges a person by his past deeds, and administers penalties for his wrongdoing. God judges a person by his present character, and disciplines him that he may become righteous.

"The Pilgrim Church" by E. H. Broadbent is still at the top of my list.

Hello Peter,
I read several of Janet Benge's biographical books with my daughter when she was younger. We liked all of them. Here's a link to her books:

That sounds great, thrombomodulin. It's not a Christian book (per se), and it's fiction, but if you don't mind that, then "True Grit" by Charles Portis might be good. I just listened to the audio book. It's pretty short. I wasn't always listening very closely - the downside of audio books - but I don't recall anything inappropriate for even a 10 year old, and I recall that the main character (a 14 year old girl) quotes Bible verses from time to time. (You might be aware of it from the recent movie of the same name.)
A local library is likely to have it, I think.
