Capitalizing "He, His, Him"

I've noticed in my new ESV (English Standard Version) that when Jesus is referenced, the translators didn't capitalize "he, his, him".
For example; Isaiah 53;4-6 ...

4Surely he has borne our griefs
and carried our sorrows;
yet we esteemed him stricken,
smitten by God, and afflicted.
5But he was wounded for our transgressions;
he was crushed for our iniquities;
upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace,
and with his stripes we are healed.
6All we like sheep have gone astray;
we have turned every one to his own way;
and the LORD has laid on him
the iniquity of us all.

Why is he/him/his not capitalized like other translations?

Some don't because I believe they don't want to capitalize pronouns. I do when referring to God or Jesus because I think they should.

I wonder where this odd (to me) practice of capitalizing "he, his, him" comes from? It doesn’t add anything to our understanding and I doubt (but don’t know for sure) it is in the original.

Not sure where the practice first arose, but it is not part of the Greek or Hebrew manuscript tradition, as far as I am aware.

The practice can be useful for clarifying pronoun referents. But generally I disapprove. The practice is another "Christianese" obstacle to communication with the great unwashed.

I find myself capitalizing every word that begins with H that I come to when typing a sentence sometimes, just because I'm in the Habit of doing so with God and Jesus pronouns. I Have to go back and make them all small when I Have finished, Heck, I even forget to correct the problem sometimes!!
