What is a biography of a missionary or Christian brother or sister that you would recommend?

I highly recommend the two men's biographies mentioned in the preceding posts. So far as I know, there is only one biography of Brother Yun ("The Heavenly Man"), but there are many of Sundar Singh. I have read about four of them. I think the best books on Sundar Singh are "The Wisdom of the Sadhu" (Plough Publishing} and "SSundar Singh: Footprints Over the Mountains" (YWAM Publishing).

I have especially benefitted from reading several different biographies of George Mueller.

I have always found the stories of Corrie ten Boom ("The Hiding Place"), Brother Andrew ("God's Smuggler"), Richard Wurmbrandt ("Tortured For Christ"), Jim Elliott ("Through Gates of Splendor"), A.W. Tozer ("A.W. Tozer: A Twentieth Century Prophet," Christian Publications), and Johann Christoph Blumhardt ("The Awakening," Plough Publishing) very edifying as well.

A book called "Deeper Experiences of Famous Christians" has many chapter-length biographies of a number of inspiring people.
