I just hope it works, as I've never seen the program.

Thanks, really appreciate it.steve wrote:I have made the alterations and will use those setting from now on.
It wouldn't be ideal for music, but for speech 16k is just fine. The Narrow Path (low speed version) has always been 8k, and even that's fine for speech. The half hour show is at 32k, but the only difference I can tell on my computer is that the file is 4x bigger than it would be at 8k. I probably should've suggested 8k; if it were up to me, I'd make them all 8k.Are you sure that changing the bit rate from 128 to 16 won't terribly compromise the sound quality?
I tried to convert a podcast to 8k for emailing recently & it sounded dreadful, & had to be scrapped; 16 seemed fine though.backwoodsman wrote:I probably should've suggested 8k; if it were up to me, I'd make them all 8k.
Was it stereo? 8k is a little too low for stereo but works fine for mono. There are some other settings that could've done it too.Suzana wrote:I tried to convert a podcast to 8k for emailing recently & it sounded dreadful, & had to be scrapped; 16 seemed fine though.
