Steve - Broadcast live

Hi Steve,

I am always looking for new tech tools to use on a website and I came across something very interesting that might interest you and be very useful for all of us here. As I understand it you regularly lead a Bible study. There have been many times that I wish I could be a part of the study but living in the middle of the country it has been impossible for me to attend. Therefore I would like to introduce you to a website that allows you to do live streaming of your lectures and all for free. All you need is a video camera and the internet. You set up your own account (very very easy) and begin broadcasting. To check out this great resource, already being used by many church congregations each Sunday morning, go to www.ustream.tv With your own free account and free broadcast and unlimited time usage this I believe would be the perfect way for many of us to sit at our computers and actually be there with you and your group.

I'm sure you have people to help you if you need it, but I am willing to set up the account and other options. What's also cool about it is that you can incorporate Twitter and have live chat at the same time between the respective viewers.

And if you're not so much interested in video, there are lots of free VOIP options as well. I have family members in Florida and Canada and I live in Alabama. We often get together using Ventrillo.

Greg, did you by chance get my PM? I just wanted to make sure it got through.

Sorry for not getting back sooner. I have been traveling since Friday and have not been able to spend any time on the forum. I just saw this thread and think it's a great idea. I'll look into it.

And progress on this, fellas? I'm not so much interested in a live broadcast but a taping would be nice. I talked to Tom Curran a while back about posting some of Steve's stuff on Youtube. Steve needs his own channel on there. :)

I wouldn't mind a few more MP3s either (says a man who's already consumed the entire Narrow Path stash). A certain jealousy is aroused in me when hearing of all these great Bible studies out in So Cal. Most of our home groups where I live are comprised of a bunch of dudes talking about the latest playoff game, followed by prayer. My wife recently got a job offer that would bring us to San Diego. That a bit far from you guys, Steve?

It would be far from where Steve lives, but you could come to the Orange County meetings, especially if you move to the north part of San Diego County. That way I wouldn't be the only one driving for an hour to get there. :D
