I think Evangelism Explosion helps you know you yourself was saved and how other people may know too.
"May I share with you how I came to know how I have eternal life and how you may know it too?" (i.e, how "you may know that I have eternal life too")
So the whole point of this evangelism was to let people know that the one witnessing has eternal life.
hahaha

Re: How You Know You're Saved
When I taught school in a Hutterite community when I was in my twenties, I tried to tell the Hutterites that I was saved.
One man replied, "You may be saved, but you are not safe."
Perhaps a better question than "How do I know I'm saved?" is "How do I know I'm being saved?"
I have come to believe that salvation is a process. "He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion in the day of Jesus Christ" and "You are being conformed to the image of Christ."
When we begin to understand that essentially it is not hell fire from which we are saved, but that we are in the process of being saved from sin, we will not be so intent on knowing that we have been saved from hell. As George MacDonald put it, "No man is safe from hell until he is free from his sins." The Hope of the Gospel Chapter 1, Salvation from Sin George believed that hell has a redemptive purpose. He said, "No one will ever be redeemed from hell but by being saved from his sins, from the evil in him. If hell be needful to save him, hell will blaze, and the worm will writhe and bite, until he takes refuge in the will of the Father." ibid.
