charles finney was arminian.

I thought Finney was an Open-theist.

perhaps he was, christopher. i used the term "arminian" to mean non-calvinist.

Actually, according to Roger Olsen, Finney was a semi-pelegian. So, according to Olsen, he was not Arminian in the purest sense and therefore, not an accurate representative of Arminian Theology. I got this from listening to him being interviewed on reclaiming the mind. Supposedly, he goes in depth explaining this.
