23 minutes in Hell

With all the discussion about Hell I was wondering if anyone has read or heard the interview by Bill Weiss titled "23 minutes in Hell". What do you think of his testimony? He seems very sincere, with no agenda other than to relay his message.

I have not but others have relayed what they believe are trips into hell and they are all horrendous.
All the accounts i've read are with literal flames burning people's skins as they writh in agony.

And it's interesting because the resurrection of physical bodies has not taken place yet. So how can people's skin be burned in "hell" now if bodies are still in the ground?

You know, this makes me think even moreso that the story of Lazarus and the rich man is just an illustration. Since we know that "Abraham's bosom" and "hades" were believed to be holding places, then how can someone's body be tormented during that time if it has not been resurrected yet?

I haven't read it, but I did scan through it once at a bookstore. The portions I read were reminiscent of Dante's Inferno.

I personally haven't spent any time in Hell, but I did spend a week in Omaha once.

i listened to it.

he describes initially being in a "holding cell" and then a couple of horrendous demon thugs come in and begin pulling at his limbs like they are going to tear him apart. he describes suffocating heat, and stench.

i always thought demons would be suffering right along with humans in hell; i.e. i didnt think they had the power to "run the show" in hell. thats if the traditional view of hell is correct, of course.

It seems to me that this is the type of testimony that cannot be verified. I don't know for sure but it would appear that Bill has had much to gain by telling this story. The money that has been made from book sales and the fame that has come to him since writing this book could give good reason to doubt his credibility.

TK made a good point when he said "i always thought demons would be suffering right along with humans in hell". It would seem that this testimony would lead one to believe that Satan and his demons are victors and they would get to enjoy the torture of God's image (humanity) for eternity.

I think Bill's story is nothing more than a ploy to sell books.

I didn't get that sense from watching his interview. His book spends a lot of time referencing scripture, so he comes off as sincere in his belief that this actually happened to him.

I've never taken any of these types of testimonies seriously before, but for some reason his in particular caused me to give it some thought. I haven't decided what to make of it yet, but the topic of Hell itself is going to be controversial, as it has been on this forum.

That's why I wondered what anyone here who had heard him or read his book thought about it.

And this is what makes people flock to it. It is supposed to be revelation on things the bible has not revealed. Yet how can we test all things specifically this type of stuff (23 minutes in Hell, Divine Revelation of Hell), if there is no scriptural foundation for their premises and they go beyond what was written? Consequently, we would rightly conclude that no one is obligated to believe this stuff.

Also, when Paul recieved all his revelations, he also attracted demonic attacks. The messenger of satan comes in mind so that he would remain in humility. These people are getting rich, or at least mass increases of wealth.

Lucid dreamer... It could very well be.
