First time post. A cyber brother in Christ (Tartanarmy) brought this board to my attention. Many thanks to Steve for helping me register. I kept getting the dreaded "spambot registration attempt" when trying to sign up.
A little about myself:
Happily married with three daughters. I help run a small school that is part of a Christian children's home. I love to read the Bible and encourage others in Christ. Huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan. I like to tell people that I have been a Steeler fan since before the foundation of the world (or at least while I was being knit together in my mother's womb).
Here are some of my favorite verses from the Psalms (though there are many more). My family and I love to memorize Scripture and we spend a lot of time in the Psalms.
Psalm 115:1-3
115:1 Not to us, O LORD, not to us, but to your name give glory,
for the sake of your steadfast love and your faithfulness!
2 Why should the nations say,
“Where is their God?”
3 Our God is in the heavens;
he does all that he pleases.
All praises to our infinitely glorious God!
Psalm 16:11
11 You make known to me the path of life;
in your presence there is fullness of joy;
at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
God is my treasure hidden in the field. His love is better than life!
Psalm 63:1-4
63:1 O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you;
my soul thirsts for you;
my flesh faints for you,
as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.
2 So I have looked upon you in the sanctuary,
beholding your power and glory.
3 Because your steadfast love is better than life,
my lips will praise you.
4 So I will bless you as long as I live;
in your name I will lift up my hands.
Whom have I in heaven but you?
Psalm 70:4
4 May all who seek you
rejoice and be glad in you!
May those who love your salvation
say evermore, “God is great!”
Rejoice in your source of eternal joy! Namely God.
Psalm 73:25-26
25 Whom have I in heaven but you?
And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides you.
26 My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
To live is Christ. To die is gain. O Lord, may worthless idolatry be exposed for the lie that it is.
Psalm 27:4
4 One thing have I asked of the LORD,
that will I seek after:
that I may dwell in the house of the LORD
all the days of my life,
to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD
and to inquire in his temple.
Blessings in Christ,
Haas
