Psalm 27

Post by _Anonymous » Tue Aug 17, 2004 8:42 pm

Greetings Steve,

I was wondering if perhaps you could, pass along the words to a song that you often sing at your Friday nite meetings, it is the song based on Psalm 27 (I believe this is the one).

Thank you in advance.

There are a few Psalms that we have sung repeatedly at our meetings, and Psalm 27 is one of them. We sing verses 1, 4, 7, 8 and 14. They are taken directly from the King James Version, with the exception of verse 4, which is paraphrased to fit the music. That verse, as we sing it, goes:

One thing have I desired of the Lord
That will I seek
That I may dwell in the house of the Lord
All of the days of my life to behold
The beauty of the the Lord
And to inquire in His temple.

The guitar chords are very simple. For all the verses (except verse 4), they are: G—D—Em C—G—D C—G—C—G—C—D—G

Verse 4 is a little different (because it is longer). It goes:
G—D—Em C—G—D C—G—C—G—C—(here's where it changes)
B7—Em—D—C—B7—Em—D—G—C—G

Hope this helps.
