I seldom ask for prayer online.....
Rick,
You should be a writer..You are great! I, personally, will be praying this eve for you..I am in agreement in Jesus' name for direction, a job
that pays well, to quit smoking, and that all works out for you re: the accident. He's faithful!
God Bless.

Liseux and MLH,
Thank you very much for your prayer and concern!
Liseux: Welcome to this forum.

MLH,
Thanks for the compliment on my writing. 'Thing of it is, I'm horrible at English and barely got a "C" in remedial English in college... I had to work & work to get even that! I enjoy writing a lot. So, maybe that makes up some for: I can barely remember the differences between verbs & nouns. The way they teach English threw me off. It would've been easier for me if they never used any sentences (like how they write it on the board, then you "dissect" it). If they taught the Theory first -- and then you write a sentence -- I may have gotten it... but they didn't and don't do it like that... anyways....

update (and if I ever get a blog, I'll link y'all to it, lol):
My chances of getting the unemployment benefits (money) seem good (maybe a 7.5 on a scale of 10). I should know if I get them by next week, latest.
I'm working at the part time job I got a couple weeks ago. However, I haven't been able to get many hours (for reasons I won't go into). I rode my bicycle there yesterday, about 3.5 miles one way. I'm 51 and well, the wind was blowing pretty hard against me going to work. It was kinda rough but I'm in decent shape for my age. And, on the smoking: Smokers usually keep a "stash" like most addicts do. I've had these roll-yer-owns for when I run out...and...it's almost gone. But also: I have someone who is helping me to quit: My first cousin is my neighbor and has been told by his doctor one cigarette could kill him. He had a "stash" also, after recently getting out of the hospital and having 2 stints put into his heart. I know he smoked "some" after he got out of the hospital. But now, afaik, his stash is totally gone and, Saturday, he & I had something like a "meeting" (recovery from addictions type). I'll go see him later this evening. Maybe we will have another "meeting"....
Over the weekend I learned about another job and made an appointment to apply for it tomorrow. In the Custodial Sciences the position is: "I'm a Floor Man" (you knowww, the guy you see mopping & buffing the floor).
My motto is: "You Scuffem, We Buffem"....
At any rate, I may not be online after Wednesday (may have to cancel the phone & am on dialup). I will keep you all "posted" (get-it?) till then.
May the Lord bless all of you, lots,
Rick

Ok Rick C..My prayers are with you...
When I read your post I thought of this, " God resists the proud, gives grace to the humble." Well, I believe you have humbled yourself sharing with us and requesting prayers... So God will not resist you, brother.
I know from experience that it's in HIS timing!
Your sis, MLH

Thanks again MLH & All....
I didn't know you were a sister in the Lord, MLH. On this forum they don't have a place where you say if you are male or female. Beliefnet, where I used to post lots has all kinds of stuff on your profile: Sex, Occupation, Interests, "I am: (a Christian or whatever)," Denomination, Organizations/Affiliations, and a place for a brief Statement of Faith. I've thought about starting a thread here where we could list that kind of stuff.
Anyway, as of now:
If it doesn't rain tomorrow I plan to apply for two more jobs and/or I can bring my umbrella, lol, if it isn't storming out. The place I applied at yesterday said they may call this week (and that the boss has been so busy he hasn't had time to look at applications).
My cousin, who is also my neighbor -- and recently did well with having two stints put into his heart -- says his wife can give me a ride to, and home, from my current (weekend) part-time job.
I got two bags of free groceries yesterday from a multi-church sponsored place called "><Fish>" (it has the fish sign symbol outside).
Other than this I'm just going along and doing what I can. This weekend I there's a chance I might get my truck "runnable." Lastly, I will have phone service (and dialup) till at least next Wednesday.
I appreciate all of you for your support! Hopefully, I'll soon be back to full time work and have less time for the internet!
God bless,
Rick

update:
The same temporary agency who set up my appointment for the job interview -- that I had the wreck going to -- called today.
Now, no interview is needed...and I start working (full time) tomorrow afternoon!
It's a factory that makes small refrigerators that go in campers & RVs, etc. I'll probably be on an assembly line or on a forklift. Also, this place has a pretty high turnover rate, probably because they require a fair amount of overtime (ok, I'll take that...I need it)!
This factory is right across the road from where my current weekend job is (in warehouses, part-time buffing the floors). I'm going to try to do both jobs till I get all caught up on the finances, anyway....
This place was the very last place I thought I would get a job. (I really only went to the interview last week because I have to to get unemployment benefits...I didn't think they would hire me) -- I've applied there before and they didn't hire me, saying I wasn't qualified to their standards. It was for a custodial job there and, if anything, I was OVERquaified, lol...as I have like 10 years experience in all aspects of that field!
Anyway, I got in. Praise the Lord, folks! Jesus REIGNS!
In Him,
Rick
God bless you all

Don't you just love the way God works in the lives of those who by choice have called on the name of Christ?

Wow!
And this happened even though you didn't "$ow your $eed of faith" with TBN or Daystar. I'll need to rethink my theology.
