Suggestions for Bible study for teens

Post by jeffreyclong » Sun Sep 26, 2010 7:53 pm

I have two teenage children that I would like to work through a study of the Bible.

Does anyone have a curriculum or book they can recommend? It needs to be mostly self-taught, though I would be actively discussing things with them. And I would like it to be textual, rather then topical. And book, rather then audio.

Thanks

Could you just assign them a certain passage of Scripture each day/week and discuss it with when they were done? Perhaps ask them to come up with the 'theme' of the section or write down questions that they had as they were reading.

I've never been able to work well with curriculum, so I hope someone else jumps in with a suggestion for you :)

You might want to try The Wired Word. I believe you can find it on the internet (waht can't you find on the internet?) My Pastor uses it quite extensively in our weekly bible stuy at church and it produces some great discussions. The Wired Word takes a current event or news happening somewhere in the world and applies scripture to help you decide which side your on. These topics can seem rather black and white at first, you think you know where you stand until you read a scripture that applies to the topic in question and makes you rethink your position. Hope this helps.
