Other Artists

Post by _Brian T » Tue Oct 17, 2006 9:55 am

I have quite a collection of music and it seems Keith Green and Richie Mullins are the two I reach for the most. I'll be giving Bob Bennet a listen here in the near future. One of the things I love about the music of Mullins and Green is the their use of Scripture.

Lately I've been studying Steve's series on Psalms. That got me thinking, I wish I could find a good CD of a talented artist singing the Psalms. Just yesterday, I spent about 45 minutes looking for a CD of Psalms. No luck so far. Any suggestions anyone?

Brian T, I love scripture set to music and artist who pursue that simple yet deep ministry. Two of my favorites over the years have been Michael Card and John Michael Talbot. Card has a CD entitled The Way of Wisdom and the first half is songs from the wisdom books and the last half is all taken from the Psalms, one of Talbot's best is his Come to the Quiet album from 1980 and that is predominantly the Psalms. A little side note- Talbot is a roman catholic monk, sometimes that freaks people out but I don't mind, at least give him a try. Hope that helps Brian

TK, thanks for the Link. "Wow"

21centpilgrim, I picked up a greatest hits of Michael Card yesterday and put it back. May have been a mistake, but already have many Albums of MC and I have several of Michael Talbot. Also a couple from Terry Talbot. Anyone ever heart of "Mustard Seed Faith". Old but good stuff.
I just don't have the time to convert them all from Album to CD.

I thought this poem by J.G. Whittier was pretty good, so I posted it on my blog:
