Could it be as simple as :schoel wrote:In a sentence or two, how would you describe Biblical Christianity?
Luke 10:25-28
25 And behold, a lawyer stood up to put him to the test, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” 26 He said to him, “What is written in the Law? How do you read it?” 27 And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.” 28 And he said to him, “You have answered correctly; do this, and you will live.”
Maybe becoming a true (radical) disciple of Jesus is more of a journey we walk with the Holy Spirit than something we are instantly. See the disciples throughout the Gospels and the early part of Acts. My own journey with Jesus tells me this is true.TK wrote:however, after listening to steve g's "radical christianity" series, i am fairly confident that fairly few are radical christians, in the USA at least.
Actually, aside from Steve G's teaching, I don't think any follower of God throughout history to present has yet to completely live out the summary of God's life affirmed by Jesus above.
Yet every day, we seek to obey that which the Holy Spirit calls us to. However, I find that I've often talked myself out of obedience because the cost seems to high.
God, change my heart to make me more like Jesus!
