UFO's NWO and bears oh my!

Post by _Freelancer » Tue Mar 06, 2007 9:10 pm

Man there is a lot of that on the internet these days coming from Christians. I have to admit that I got sucked into some of it, and still see some legitement arguments but this has all gotten so big I feel alot of people out there are just trying to make money off of it.

I do see the concerns of the NWO one world government people, with the advent of the patriot act and more intrusiveness in to our lives, but what I keep coming back to is... how does this change our walk with Jesus or our relationship with him.

I visit a message board run by a real nice Christian couple that investigate conspiracies from artifacts on Mars to government cover ups, and I admit that it's like something out of the X files, but it seems like you could run around in circles forever trying to figure it all out, and to what end. Id there any merit in this kind of fringe investigation.

Worse, I see some folks starting to meld Christian and new age concepts as a result of all this.

Any comments? Anyone have any experience in these kind of sites?

i would be lying if I said i had no interest in topics like UFOs, loch ness monsters, Bigfoot, how the pyramids were built, etc. these mysteries have interested me since i was a kid. however, i feel no need to try to "insert" these things into my theology. if they find Bigfoot, or if a UFO lands on the White House lawn, then i will worry about how it fits into theology.

Christian conspiracy theories often detract from the work of the Kingdom of God as they distract the adherent from becoming more like Jesus.

I'm curious as to an actual example of a Christian conspiracy theory that made its believers more like Jesus. I doubt one exists.
