Thanks to all for your prayer and your concern! I am amazed that so many people who have never met me can care! But that's the way it is in the Body of Christ. All who are in the Body, are joined as living stones in God's Building ---- each one unique, and yet perfectly fitted!

I want you all to know that your prayer was answered in a miraculous way. I had absolutely no pain resulting from the surgery! While in the hospital, the nursing staff kept asking me whether I wanted to medicine for pain. But I declined, as there was no purpose in taking such medicine when there was no pain.

I had no choice concerning the anesthesia. A few days before the surgery, I developed an abcess in the centre of my lower back, and so a "spinal" (the usual method for a TransUrethral Resection of the Prostate (T.U.R.P.)was out of the question. The concern was infection.

Just before the surgery I glanced at the wall clock. Then I became aware of voices around me. I opened my eyes and looked at the clock again. Two hours had passed! I recall saying, "This is amazing!" I had been somewhat apprehensive about being put to sleep, thinking I might sink into some great, black, fearful hole of oblivion, but that was not the case. I was totally unaware of anything which transpired in that 2-hour period.
I think this might be similar to a death experience. Decades, or perhaps centuries, or millenia, may pass, but, when we awake in the resurrection, we will have no memory of that time period.

My throat was a bit sore, presumably from the respirator tube inserted into it. Small amounts of tissue which had been removed from the prostate, and which had dropped into the bladder were removed by flushing them out through the catheter which had been inserted. This process was uncomfortable since it made me feel as if I were desparate to urinate. However, later when simple drainage took place, I was relieved of this uncomfortable sensation.

The following day (Feb 23), the catheter was removed to see whether I could urinate. I couldn't. This is fairly common. However, they had to get me out of the hospital, as there were many patients needing to get in. So they sent me home with the catheter in place. I was supposed to return after the weekend, but I went to my home, 200 miles away. On the following Monday, I went to a local clinic to get the catheter removed. I rejoiced that I was able to urinate again.

I won't bore you with the details, but I had some more problems a few days later, which were subsequently resolved.

Apparently it takes at least a month for complete healing. Next Thursday will be exactly a month since the surgery.

I am doing fine, and I thank you all again for your prayers.

With love in the Altogether Lovely One,

Don

Paidon, I am happy for you as well. I hold to your thinking that the unawareness of time passing from the point of death to ressurection is what is meant for the believer when we are instantly in the presence of the Lord.

Anyway, glad to see you back and praise God for this outcome.

Nice to have you back, brother. I was driving home from work the other day thinking "I wonder how Paidion is doing." Good to hear everything went well.

yes, Paidion, now i can breathe a sigh of relief. God answers prayer!

however, i must admit that your graphic description made me cringe a little.

i might have to start taking massive quantities of saw palmetto. its supposed to be good for such things.

Greetings Paidion & all,

Paidion & I had emailed as we both had problems logging-in. But Brother Derek just helped me fix the problem (via email also).

At any rate, I'm glad things went well for you, Paidion. I just turned 51 and need to be reminded to have my health stuff checked out. Thanks. (I'm making arrangements for a full checkup right now).

Nice to be back on the forum, tc folks,
Rick

I'm glad to see your doing well Paidion! It had been some time without hearing anything.
