We were just talking this morning at my prayer group that we should be praying for vs. always critiquing the likes of Joel. Men like him who have huge ministries have the potential to reach so many people with the gospel, so i have essentially committed to bite my tongue (unless there is clear doctrinal error being set forth) and pray instead.

i appreciate your humble spirit in this regard, dave. it hits home.

Good point brother. I too, have been critical of these guys. I can't say it's productive. Certainly not more than praying.

The prosperity guys were mentioned once in a prayer meeting I attended, and we all ended up laughing about it. I was immediately so convicted b/c I realized that these guys are either lost & on their way to hell, or truly deceived & sending others to hell, so my attitude should be one of grief and prayer for their eyes to be opened to the truth, and also their deceived followers. I know I too have been deceived before, and am so thankful that God opened my eyes to the truth! So, I agree that we should pray for these guys. Can you imagine a public apology for teaching a wrong Gospel?? That would be awesome!

On another note, about prison ministry- does anyone know how a woman can get into women prisons to minister w/o being part of a big church? (I attend a small home fellowship.) The only opportunities I have heard of are with mega churches that I would not minister with.

Thanks,
~Lis

Lis,

You can try Prison Fellowship

My Pen pal correspondence is set up through them, but I know their ministry reach is much wider.
