Memories in Heaven?
I am firmly in the camp that we WILL remember our earthly lives. I don't think ignorance is bliss.

Well, yes actually, I've been down the road a bit for a 28yr old. For example, I will share a small piece of how I think this will play out in heaven.MLH wrote:I would like to hear any comments Steve G. may have about this subject.
We will have a body like his...I dont know about you Derek, but my life has been a real challenge and I can only hope I wont remember much.
I was sexally abused as a child. It was a horrible thing that really messed up the first 18+ years of my life.
However, when I became a Christian and began to grapple with God's perspective on things, and how He at least allowed that to happen to me, and didn't stop it, I figured that He must have had a reason.
Well, I taught guitar for a while, and once I had a guitar student who was obviously depressed and doing drugs (just like I had, before meeting Jesus). His mom mentioned his depression to me over the phone once, and I had what some would call a "hunch", what I would call a "word", that he had been abused as well, so I told her my story to see what she would say.
She was amazed, and told me that her son had indeed been abused as well. She thought, I think rightfully so, that God had brought me into her son's life so I could help him out.
I was able to minister to this kid, and help him over a big hump in his life, by telling him somthing his "councellers" couldn't, namely, that I knew what he was dealing with, it had happened to me, and I had been there. I could honestly say, "I understand".
It may sound strange, but I thanked God for that I had been molested at that point. I don't wish that it never happened, and I don't care if I remember it or not, because God was glorified by it, and I saw His hand in allowing it to happen.
What that guy meant for evil, God used for good!
I was fortunate enough to see this on this side of heaven, but there are many things that I think are just like this, that we won't understand until then.
I don't want to be robbed of knowing how God was there in the trials that I didn't see Him in while I was going through them. If I forget my trials when I'm glorified, I won't have that privilege!
Hopefully this will help you see my perspective.
God bless,

When an athlete wins a championship, he doesn't hope to forget all the bruises, breaks & beatings he took along the way. He sees them as well worth it. When I get to heaven I am quite sure I'll realize the value in all my struggles. I'll see my sins for what they were without any level of deception. I'll remember my past and be even more grateful for my future. Not only will I want to remember my past, but I'll want to see the present. I'll want to cheer on the church.

when we put on the incorruptible and have a body as HIS, I always
thought the former things would not be remembered. All things become new.
Mattrose, I hope you are wrong!
