God's Pleasure is not in Man's Guilt

Post by _Jude » Thu Aug 19, 2004 1:54 pm

Men choose to love their sin rather than God, and are guilty in their willful sin of choosing (death). Yet, God takes pleasure in the repentant heart.

Ezekiel 33:11 (ESV)
Say to them, As I live, declares the Lord God, I
have no pleasure in the (death) of the wicked, but that
the wicked turn from his way and live; turn back,
turn back from your evil ways, for why will you die,
O house of Israel?

Ezekiel 18:23 (ESV)
Have I any pleasure in the (death) of the wicked,
declares the Lord God, and not rather that he should
turn from his way and live?

Ezekiel 18:32 (ESV)
For I have no pleasure in the (death) of anyone,
declares the Lord God; so turn, and live."

Reason:
Romans 8:29 (ESV)
For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.

So Jude, when men sin are the resisting the will of God? Can God's will be resisted?

Or, does God have two wills? One that can be resisted and one that cannot.
