Suzana, Do you know for sure if her ministry's money was used for the clock or if she bought it herself?
Would that make much difference, since she derives her own salary from the ministry? I don't wish to judge anyone for liking nice things - I do too! - but with so much influence on so many, IMHO, Joyce Meyer's superlavish lifestyle brings disrepute to the gospel by majoring on temporal benefits/blessings.

Joyce Meyer article

"Meyer says she should not have to defend how she spends the ministry’s money.

"We teach and preach and believe biblically that God wants to bless people who serve Him," Meyer said. "So there’s no need for us to apologize for being blessed."
Joyce Meyer says God has made her rich.

Everything she has came from Him: the $10 million corporate jet, her husband’s $107,000 silver-gray Mercedes sedan, her $2 million home and houses worth another $2 million for her four children — all blessings, she says, straight from the hand of God.

I honestly don't know what her salary is, i just listen to her sermons . I understand your concerns but i think she has changed over the years and distanced herself from the outrageous WOF teachers. In my neck of the woods i get TBN and i have'nt seen her on there for quite awhile, she seems to buy her own air time.
If her teachings are unbiblical i will stop watching her but praying in an attitude of expectation of God's promises , i find consistent with my faith. Other people may look at this very differently for many different reasons and that's OK because God made us all different so we all approach God in a way that reasonates in our own hearts.

I guess I was assuming I was praying for healing or some such thing and not salvation.

I think it would be better if we all would try to approach God in a way that resonates with Him.

I don't think there's "magic" in the words, and I try not to simply add them as a "tag line" much like an email signature, but I do try to say words like that whenever possible just to remind myself what's important to me and to keep my own attitude in check.

I think Jesus said something like "out of the abundance of the heart is what comes out of a man's mouth" , so it's inconsistent to want to have much faith and then say how worried we are. Isn't worry the opposite of faith , isn't it a lack of faith?
Are unbelievers going to be moved by how worried we are or would having faith despite our circumstances be something that may impact them?

OK and he told us "without faith it's impossible to please God."

I think it's inauthentic to present an image that doesn’t reflect your true feelings. God knows what we're feeling inside anyway. The scriptures are filled with true emotions. For example, Darin's verbal reminders/encouragements to himself are very similar to the approach that the psalmist used:

Psa 42:5 Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation

The psalmist is honest about his inner turmoil and yet reminds/encourages himself put his hope in God
