Hello. Any of the audio bibles available on CD can be ripped and converted to MP3 files which then can be transferred to your iPod. I also have transferred the same files to a cell phone which has a built-in speaker as most MP3 players do not.

Ripped? As in stolen? As in taken without permission? That doesn't sound like a very beneficial Christian trait to have.

If you have already paid for the discs why can't you put them on your MP3 player in a different format? Did I suggest stealing the files? Before you judge another you might inquire into the details.

I don't know, did you?

I asked three (3) questions. Did you answer any of them with a firm "no?" No judgment involved. "Ripped" makes me think of something stolen, as in, "He ripped me off."

If that is not what you meant then please accept my most sincerely apologies. I'm not super-technologically inclined.

The word "ripped" may have originally been short form for stealing something from someone else’s CD etc.... Now the word is just a common buzz word for anything that is copied from a CD.

Thanks Steve. Lexicon does change doesn't?

I don't have time for this abuse. I will not be visiting this forum again.

I sense no abuse here -- also, as an Intellectual Property attorney, I can tell you "ripping things" is a grey area (notably encrypted DVDs) even for personal use, but it's something I personally feel is acceptable (and perhaps to be encouraged) as an unjust and unwise law (and also quite unsettled and inconsistent in many respects). The RIAA (recording industry association of america) has been all but unsuccessful in their draconian enforcement efforts against individuals even for downloading commercial music from peer to peer sites. In the latest RIAA case, the judged really "ripped" them for their tactics and abuse of the law. For the most part, the copyright laws in this regard have been poorly considered, but also poorly written and are in some respects almost certainly unconstitutional.

If you feel queazy about ripping, try downloading the free KJV mp3 on http://www.freeclassicaudiobooks.com/

Thanks Darin. However, I do have a bit of a "mea culpa" to admit to simply because I didn't understand the posters use of lexicon that, in my day, meant stealing but as I understand it to mean now-a-days has a different connotation. I honestly didn't mean to cause any heartache but I guess maybe I should learn to look before I leap. :(

Thanks again for being so understanding.
