I studied Spanish so much in high school I started to think in Spanish. Now its (almost) Greek to me too!

That's so weird when that happens. I studied French is school, & did further study a few years ago; I also found myself thinking in French at times. I remember some instances of wondering what on earth a particular word was that I was reading, only to find it was in English, not in French.

You came very close. This is an example of how word for word translations, and looking up words, might not exactly get the meaning:

Did you hit your head? (te has dado un golpe en la cabeza)

Well, since we're into translation here, I might as well translate my anglicized Greek message to Homer as well:

I shall definitely NOT be relying on the google translation efforts. This is the offering it gave when I put in one of the texts under discussion:

English translation:

I know the Greek might be a bit ancient, but it didn't do too well on what I presume is modern Spanish.

I discovered this also. I do believe it does modern Greek.

I asked it to translate "word" into Greek and it gave "λεξη" (lexā), a word which is not found in the New Testament, but "λεξη" led me to think of "lexicon", and so I decided to write "lexicon" with Greek characters (λεξικον) and asked it to translate into English. Sure enough, it rendered it "dictionaries" (though I don't know why it gave the plural).
