I think it's a great solution!

The idea of banning, for some people, smacks of intolerance of opinions other than the "orthodox" ones of the site administrators. While I know that is not the case when anyone is banned from this site, Steve's recent solution would demolish every suspicion that this it might be.

I was thinking along the same lines, Paidion. Some people who have trouble framing the argument in favor of their viewpoint, and/or have trouble understanding opposing viewpoints, tend to think that the irritation expressed by those who get fed up with trying to correspond with them is about their viewpoint, not their style. I was afraid when RND or Crusader were banned that this was probably the case, and that they feel that this forum could not tolerate their views, not that people became frustrated when they presented them in a weird and irritating ways. Having a place to shuttle their interruptions while allowing them to continue to participate here MIGHT allow them to learn how to hold their own in a discussion.

Or, maybe not.

If not, at least it will make old threads easier to go through to find the valuable stuff.
