I hate to say it, but, in the last year of my marriage, my poor wife (who, I have concluded, became either mentally or spiritually afflicted), on several occasions, acted exactly like that woman—I mean exactly, down to the last action, choice of words and tone of voice. Is it any wonder that our kids, who had seemed to be devoted Christians up to that time, have been afraid to be zealous in their faith ever since? Children don't have to be small to be freaked out by crazy religious fanaticism.

I`m very sorry - and moved - to hear that, Steve.

It`s a shame that no man is a hero to his valet. But maybe one day (or slowly) they`ll realise what a guy their dad is/was and will come around again.

Paidon, Steve 1750 and Todd for example, otherwise their posts wouldn`t take the tone that they do.

What tone are you referring to bro? Todd could not be more of a gentlemen as well as Paidion, as for myself well maybe you're right.

I didn`t mean "tone" at all in a negative way Steve. I meant to say - in your magnanimousness (is that a word?) towards humanity, you seem to look for indications in the Bible that God will be less severe on people than traditional Christianity has usually preached. I see that as a reflection of a merciful character and therefore innately positive.

I think when we come across nebulous descriptions of what judgment is we tend to fall back on Jesus charactor since he said that among other things he came to reveal his Father to us.
