Jacksonville Theology Conference 2013--Help Needed!

Post by chrisdate » Sat May 05, 2012 2:40 pm

Hi everyone,

Perissos Resources and TheologyWeb are trying to put together a large theology conference in Jacksonville for early 2013. Before preparations can begin in earnest, however, these ministries need to know that there is sufficient interest to justify the effort. My friend and preterist Dee Dee Warren would be defending preterism in a 3.5-hour formal, moderated debate, and I may have the opportunity to defend annihilationism in a similar debate (hence my posting this in this eschatology forum). The names of other potential speakers and panelists is small (but not entirely unimpressive) so far, but many big names are being reached out to as well, including Gary Habermas, Dr. Michael Brown, Greg Koukl and more.

If you think you or anybody you know might be able to make it out to Jacksonville in early 2013 to attend this (I'm flying out there from Washington State!), would you please consider going to http://www.perissosonline.org/2012/05/0 ... ming-soon/ and following the link to the survey, to express your interest in attending--and spreading the word socially as well? Of the 250 responses they hope to have to received in the next 10 days, they've already received nearly 70, so the response is encouraging so far! Still, we need many more responses to make this happen.

Thanks,
Chris Date

With 8 days left to gather interest, we're up to 77 of the needed 250 responses, leaving 173 to collect in 8 days! If you haven't already filled out the survey, expressing your interest, please do so today or this conference may not happen! Some topics you can look forward to--besides Dee Dee Warren's preterism debate, and my annihilationism debate--may include:
  • How Does It All End: What The Bible Really Says
  • Sports and Faith: What’s the Connection?
  • Where are the Real Lines Between Church and State?
  • Diversity and Unity in Christianity
  • What if My Truth is Different Than Your Truth?
  • Why Should I Believe in The Trinity?
  • What is the Gospel Message Exactly?
  • The New Atheists
  • Evidence for the Resurrection of Jesus
  • Defending Your Faith
  • Bible Q&A
Potential (but unconfirmed) speakers/panelists besides Dee Dee and myself include Hank Hanegraaff, Greg Koukl, Dr. Mike Licona, Dr. Gary Habermas, Dr. Van Gayton, Pat Williams, Tim Tebow, Tony Boselli, Alvin Brown, Karen Hornsby, Dr. Glenn Peoples, Dr. Michael Brown, and more!

Please express your interest today!
