However, I doubt that this is the case. I think the word is used for physical death in both sentences.
Or, it could be referring to spiritual death in both sentences. Consider the following quote regarding the prodigal son.

Luke 15:21-24
21 And the son said to him, 'Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight, and am no longer worthy to be called your son.' 22 But the father said to his servants, 'Bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet. 23 And bring the fatted calf here and kill it, and let us eat and be merry; 24 for this my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.' And they began to be merry.

In this case the believing came after spiritual death and the son became "alive". So, when Jesus says, "He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live", He could be speaking of this very thing that happened to the prodigal son - and also to every person who was "dead in sin" who repents and turns to God.

TK,

Here is a verse which may relate to your topic.

Ec 9:10
Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going.

After the Resurrection

Post by _CFChristian » Fri Jun 06, 2008 2:39 am

Has anybody asked this question?

Will there be opportunity for Marriage when we get are new bodies?
Since we are back in Paradise as it was to be, then do we get to (re)start in a perfect state?
Again I do understand that in heaven there will be no marriage but what about after?

Reason:
2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

CFChristian,

The Bible does not say that there will be no marriage "in heaven"—though I do not believe that there will be. What is said is that "in the resurrection" (that is, in the New Earth) they neither marry nor are given in marriage (Matt.22:30). So that would seem to address your question.
